It’s been a while since I was able to take a walk among nature without driving for a distance. Now, there’s a small river near us with a trail running beside it. I was hoping to see some early autumn colors among the foliage but nothing of real note yet. I think that the fallen tree in the above photo probably gets a lot of critter foot traffic from one side of the river to the other.

The trail was a little rough with signs that parts had experienced severe erosion during rains this year. While it was passable, there were signs on one end that said the trail was closed. Still, I hope to return a little later when leaves begin to turn.

I took along my Sony A7II along for the walk. Many photographers don’t seem to like how Sony interprets colors from any given scene, and while I haven’t taken many photos with it yet, I like what I see for landscapes.
Most of all today, I enjoyed getting out in nature for a little while.
Glad to know you have some new places to explore. Expecting stories and images.

I have been with Sony since the beginning when they took over from Minolta. I’ve always liked their colour rendition though I always thought that it mattered little unless you only shoot in auto mode and do zero editing. In any case, I like the looks of this nature walk you’ve photographed. It’s always nice to have something like this close by. It’s like having a wireless recharging place for one’s sanity :)

Well stated, Cedric! My “batteries” have been close to full discharge for a while. :-)
In my reading, I’ve seen many photographers criticize Sony default color renditions but perhaps they were users of a competing brand. You’re right about it being of little consequence these days for most of us. With a simple preset or a few slide settings in almost any photo editing application, you can mimic the colors of any camera.
I’ll add a +1 to the wireless recharging comment. I am overdue and working on low reserves. Glad you were able to get out and scout around Earl.
