Our drive on Thursday from Santa Fe, NM, to Gallup, NM, was uneventful — no warning lights and no countdown to disaster. With less-than-perfect weather forecasted for the coming weekend, we elected on Friday to drive the 70+ miles to visit the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona.

We spent the evening sitting on a dune at White Sands National Monument watching an outstanding sunset. It was 360º whole-sky-beautiful! Of course Maggie was enjoying being out and about as well.

After an easy travel day of about 190 miles, we arrived at Junction, Texas, where we’ll stay two nights. We like having “down days” between travel days to recharge, get groceries, etc.

Bonnie and I finished working a booth at the All Valley RV & Outdoor Show, Mercedes, TX, today. It was an interesting, educational and tiring 3-day show where we handed out 1200+ packages and RV travel guides for the Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO).
