Late evening, White Sands National Monument, Alamogordo, NM

We spent the evening sitting on a dune at White Sands National Monument watching an outstanding sunset. It was 360º whole-sky-beautiful! Of course Maggie was enjoying being out and about as well.

These are a few photos which caught my eye, and required almost no post-processing when I loaded them on my computer.  I’ll certainly post more a little later after going through them.

Those are some truly spectacular landscapes and beautifully composed in these photographs. Looking forward to seeing more.

    • Thanks, Cedric. I captured many images during this outing and more of them will show up here. If felt good to be this excited about photography again. An exceptional evening for sure.

  2. I thought you’d like White Sands. It’s an amazing place. And Maggie seems to be enjoying it! That’s a really nice picture, by the way. I hope we get some good morning and evening skies there in a couple of weeks.

    • Yes, it certainly is a beautiful and amazing place. We’ve had wonderful weather here this week. I certainly hope it will be as kind to you. Yeah, Maggie loved the sand dunes. Thanks!

  3. Love the pink in the last two images. And, love the light on Maggie. The sand dunes are on my list of places to visit. Your images stir that desire. Thanks forsharing.

    • Monte, the sunset colors we witnessed were amazing and brilliant in all directions, 360º. White Sands is well worth the trip. I’ll probably have a few more photos, a little later on, to share as well.

  4. Glad to see you’ve got your adventure groove going…enjoy!

  5. I love that place, as you know. I’m sure that you and the crew will enjoy exploring it!

    • We love it as well now, Paul. It’s certainly special. The only slight down-side is that the wind has been dead quiet so footprints are everywhere in the sand at the moment and there needs to be at least some wind to erase them. Hey, it’s a small complaint from te viewpoint of a photographer. :-)

  6. Beautiful shot, Earl. You guys are livin’ the dream.

  7. Beautiful shots Brooks. I hope to make it out there someday.
