During all of the recent heat, rain and high humidity we’ve been having I’ve observed an over abundance of mushrooms along the trails of my morning walks.

Travels this week took us just below the dam located between High Rock Lake and the Tuckertown Reservoir along the Yadkin River in North Carolina. Taking advantage of a public park/access point we pulled over to see how high water levels might be with the frequent rains we’ve been experiencing.

…I’ll never be able to visit this park again without thinking of this man — his impact on us has extended well beyond the few seconds we shared…

Rain showers have limited some outdoors activities the last few days so I’ve used this time to work on this blog and the associated gallery… Blog work — months ago Mark Graf kindly informed me certain images I was posting in Meandering Passage were not scaling correctly when viewed on an iPad, or probably any other small screen device…

I was delighted to see Tom Dills blog post on a recent afternoon visit to Morgan Ridge Vineyards which Bonnie and I had joined him and Kathy on. Tom had made the arrangements and as he mentioned it turned out to be an afternoon of enjoyable food, good wine and great company.
