Thomas, Empty Into Light

The warm wind moves through my hair, stirs my sleeves, pulls me gently up out of meditation. Five years of mornings like this one.

My hands still remember the weight of papers, the grip of a decade and a half spent pursuing other people’s arguments. Now they open, empty, into light. No magic bullet. Just listening, and the gift of time.

Ocean waves at my feet. Seagulls calling overhead. Sunlight settling warm on my shoulders. My life, mine.
