The moment Frank reaches out to offer his umbrella, he recognizes her. She, like him, has grown older now, but she is still beautiful, as though the years have been kind. For a moment, they stay silent. The rain falls steadily, echoing the storm being rediscovered within.

All that Frank can finally manage to say is, “It’s been a long time.” Lianne leans closer, replying. “Too long.”

Their hips come together, their breaths mix, and each touch of the fabric seems charged. Watching Lianne’s lips move as she speaks, with rainwater shining on her skin, Frank lets the gap between them close.

Thank you, Monte. I appreciate it. I’ve been working to ensure that the image conveys its part of the story. Abstract or minimalist art sometimes evokes stronger emotions by engaging the viewer’s imagination. As I mentioned before, I strive to keep the written story minimal, as it captures a specific moment in time depicted in the image. While I may suggest what happened before or after, I prefer to leave those details open for the viewer to interpret as they wish.
