The moment Frank reaches out to offer his umbrella, he recognizes her. She, like him, has grown older now, but she is still beautiful, as though the years have been kind. For a moment, they stay silent. The rain falls steadily, echoing the storm being rediscovered within.

All that Frank can finally manage to say is, “It’s been a long time.” Lianne leans closer, replying. “Too long.”

Their hips come together, their breaths mix, and each touch of the fabric seems charged. Watching Lianne’s lips move as she speaks, with rainwater shining on her skin, Frank lets the gap between them close.
