Haddie, Longing

| | | |
Haddie, a young girls stands under the light of a theater. Life Frames.
Small steps echoed, and then what felt like waking up; Haddie’s heart thudded wildly, caught between nerves and exhilaration as the empty theater opened before her. The lights flowed over her small frame in a golden haze, dreamlike and dazzling, while every part of her hummed with energy.

Haddie’s mom remains busy backstage, hands full of fabric and thread long after rehearsal ends. Soon, her absence will be noticed, but they always know where to look; just as a moth seeks the flame, Haddie is drawn to the stage.

As Haddie slips quietly back into the shadows, the thrill of the stage lingers within her. She cannot name the longing she feels, only that she wants to feel it again.
