Crape Myrtles
The neighborhood where Bentley and I walk is full of Crape Myrtle trees, and they are blooming. I like these scarlet-red ones the best, but there are also white and pink varieties. While the blooms are lovely to view, they can be quite a mess if they grow over a sidewalk or patio.

Bonnie and I recently updated our cell phones. Switching phones has become incredibly easy these days. With no required store visits, eSIM support, and the convenience of cloud backups and restores, it’s a smooth transition. However, it can be somewhat emotionally disappointing once the restoration process is finished and your new phone looks and functions mostly like your old one.
This is the first cell phone I’ve owned that can capture the detailed shadows of the moon’s craters without overexposing the moon into an all-white blob. By the way, Bentley, who is constantly on the move, isn’t a reliable tripod or photographic partner. 😉

Cell phone cameras have come a long ways over the last few years. I love crape myrtles. My mom used to have them all around her house and I looked forward to their blooms every year.
We usually keep our phones for four years or more, so it makes the jump even more obvious. We had a couple of Crape Myrtle trees in my parents’ yard, and the blooms are much nicer than the trees themselves. 😂 Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Pepper.
Lovely trees and not many around here. Yes, I understand the changes of phones and the mixed feelings that go with them. If it’s more of an update then less feeling of change. About a year ago I switched from Verizon to Visible. Visible is the low cost version of Verizon. They have no brick and mortar as everything is done by their app. That alone was surprisingly easy and I am happy with it. And camera phone have come a long way!!!
When we were RVing, we had Verizon mobile phones because the coverage was the most dependable and had the best area coverage at the time. It was before so many smaller, less expensive mobile companies piggybacked on Verizon’s network. After our RV days, we switched to Spectrum Mobile, which is price competitive with your Visible Co. and also uses the Verizon network. I appreciate having a capable phone camera as I almost always have my phone with me, but not always a full-size camera. I’ll use and enjoy this new phone and the built-in camera. Have a good week, my friend!
You’d think if a dog could be trained to put a treat on their nose (which I’ve never tried), you’d think they might be able to put a phone on it. Sheesh. ;)
I’ve noticed the same
thing about a new phone, kinda anticlimactic.
Yeah, you would think so, wouldn’t you, Mark? Now Maggie was good about standing still quietly while I took a photo, but Bentley follows his own little tune, always checking things out and more than happy to ignore me while on a walk, until the leash pulls tight. The treat on the nose thing sounds like a good way to lose a finger. 😂
