A quintessential Alaska bush/float plane, the DeHavilland Beaver, dropping down between mountains for a wet landing at Ketchikan, Alaska, @MAY2008

“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.”
― Carl Sagan, The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark

This photo is from our 2008 Alaska Cruise using a previously owned Nikon D300 camera. A nice camera of the time that was certainly kept busy during this trip. We took a tour flight on a DeHavilland Beaver while in Ketchikan: happy memories!

A very powerful quote and very accurate. I loved my D300 and almost wish I had it even if I didn’t use. Yes, happy memories!
