“Do what you can as best as you could.”

I like the tone and actuality of the quote above.  We can’t expect or demand so much from ourselves that we are doomed to fall short; “do what you can as best as you could.”

It’s been rainy for several days, and the temperatures will reach a high in the 70s today.  It’s wild, what with the frigid temperatures last week.  It seems we can have four seasons all in one month these days.   Perhaps taking a play on words from Mark’s recent post, we should call it ‘Climatestress.’

An old photo above, given a little new life.

  1. Those drops on the branches remind me of what our yard looks like right now. Our frigid cold has also passed, and now with above freezing daytime temps, a lot is melting. However, a lot of water on top of ice/frozen ground isn’t so great either – lots of puddles in the yard make for very wet dogs coming inside! :-) Great quote and I like your *mastering* of the photograph.

    • Thanks, Mark. Weather, which seems strange today, might be the new norm. Wet, muddy dogs; we haven’t dealt with that for a while. Since Maggie’s passing, we’ve come close to adopting a rescue dog several times, but it’s never worked out so far. I imagine we’ll be dog parents again if we happen upon the right dog.

  2. Thanks for revitalizing the image!! I love it!! I agree we can easily set unattainable goals then beat up on ourselves for not meeting then. We can also not set attainable goals because we feel doomed before starting. I’ve done way too much of that in my life. I saw where you were getting rain. Stay dry!

    • Feeling doomed: I think it’s human to feel you can’t fail if you don’t risk anything. It takes courage to show up sometimes. This photo was taken with my old all-time favorite Nikon D700. More than once, I’ve wished I’d kept it and the lens, but I let my head get turned by another. ~grin~ I could probably find a serviceable and affordable used D700 camera body now, but I couldn’t afford the same Pro lens. They hold their value too well. Thanks, Monte.
