I’d recently been griping about no snow here, and it seems my dare to Mother Nature worked.   It lightly snowed and sleeted most of the day yesterday, giving us a nice light coating for the sun to peek down upon early this morning.  The nice thing is that we didn’t have heavy ice, which is very common to the area, and the mass power outages associated with that.  Thanks, Mom!  😉

These are views in our backyard early this morning.

  1. Mother nature is unpredictable but that just gives us the surprises to enjoy. Glad you got out with your camera. First light on snow is breathtaking for me.

Not sure if it’s me but your site does not remember my name, email and website. I’ve had this problem before. Me?

    • It was as much ice as snow, but it was pretty and didn’t melt much today. Local weather is predicting may be a chance for some more by the end of the week, but who knows.

I did a comment test on Meandering Passage using a test user, and it created and remembered the data correctly. 2. I’m a bit disappointed with our “winter” here in southern Maine. When the first snow arrived I feared being snowed in or having to shovel the roof, resort to canabalism at some point and frequent dreams of the Donner Party. And yet, what I see when I look out the window is frozen snow, not more than 3 inches, grass protruding, sticks laying about and a treacherous driveway I have to navigate to retrieve the mail. Everything is frozen. Buddy and I walked around the yard on top of the snow this morning! So yeah, a bit disappointing. Our neighbors told Katherine, “Tell Joe that it’s not normal. If this was our normal winter we wouldn’t live here!” Comforting assurance that things can get better. :-)

    • Haha, I don’t know better, but you can bet on it being different. Expectations and weather predictions have become more complex than ever as we move into an earth we’ve never experienced before. Thanks for the visit and comment, Joe. Take care!
