Lest you think our backyard is only about the birds and the bees, there be rabbits too! πŸ‡  πŸ˜‰

My apologies to Beatrix Potter, I don’t know this rabbit’s name.

  1. Wow!. I love these images. That third image is stunning, and the eye contact is perfect. Somewhere I have a series of images of a rabbit eating a stem of grass. Each image shows less and less of the stem of grass as it is consumed. Amazing how quickly they can consume food.

  2. He looks like a Flopsy to me. ;)

  3. No shortage of rabbits here in the Carolinas, that’s for sure, nor squirrels, nor hawks! If it weren’t so hot and mosquito-infested in my backyard, I’d probably hang out there taking pictures of the various critters, but …

    • We had plenty of both squirrels and rabbits earlier in the spring, but a pair of hawks are hunting the area, so they are either hiding now or have been lunch. This year it feels like the mosquito should be the new state bird, and Mark Graf in MI has been saying they are terrible up there as well. Thanks, Paul.
