Friday morning, after Tropical Storm Zeta moved through the area this past Thursday, Bonnie and I went for a hike at a local nature preserve.  Zeta delivered high winds and took down trees and power lines in many neighborhoods, leaving many people without power in the area.  It seemed the winds also stripped most of the colorful changing leaves from trees as well.  Luckily, many leaves haven’t begun to change yet and managed to weather the storm.  Perhaps some late colors?

We did find a few “pockets” of yellowish-brown leaves.  Most were either near the ground where they were sheltered or…

I know it’s pitiful autumn colors for the most part,  but we did have a great hike.   I find myself needing more nature time as the pandemic continues and November 3rd election approaches.

But good news, Maggie has settled into our new home and has a steady routine, so we feel safe in leaving her for hours at a time now.

You didn’t take Maggie? How dare you two! Surprised the couch wasn’t torn to shreds. 😁Glad she is okay with life now. Also glad you two were able to be out and about for relief from the stress of our 2020 year. With the snow calming down the smoke from the fires I’ve been able to be out in nature a bit more, even in the cold. I go there for the same reasons.
