“To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter… to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird’s nest or a wildflower in spring – these are some of the rewards of the simple life.” ~~ John Burroughs

  1. Now, that looks inviting. I am very much aware of how many writers and poets of the past were so in touch with nature. We seem so distant. If you two are staying here I hope you enjoy it.

    • It’s actually two original early 1900’s log cabins joined together to form one larger cabin belonging to friends of ours who live in Atlanta. We did spend last weekend there with them at 4,600′ altitude enjoying beautiful weather and for the most part being “off-line.” Maggie loves my son Aaron and we were able to get him to stay with her while we got away. It was probably more of a norm for many of the writers and poets of the past to connect easily with nature but at the moment for me personally, it’s now a momentary privilege for which I’m always thankful. Of course, perhaps I have no one but myself to blame for that. :-) Have a good rest of the week, Monte!
