This was one of those photos which at first glance seemed to have little to recommend it but my eye kept coming back to that tiny snail on moss which was only about .5 inch (12.7 mm) tall above its rock base. But to the snail, this must seem like a forest and the large rock (10+ feet in diameter) a world. Do you ever wonder if we in our concept of “our world” are similarly deceived?
To even try to capture the “snails world” with my phone I had to lay the long edge of the phone flat against the rock and bring it as close as its focus abilities would allow. Technically the photo is not very good but the thoughts it stirred for me, were interesting.
Yes, what I believe to be reality takes on a whole new reality when seen from a different perspective.
