I’ll do the obligatory snow post since one of the big stories today is the snow storm heading up the east coast.
Last night until sometime this morning we got about 4.5 inches of heavy wet snow. The dogs were going crazy running and exploring while I took these photos in our back yard.
As you can see it’s a perfect wet snow for snowballs and snowmen. I’m sure the neighborhood children will soon be out taking full advantage of being home and having a lot of snow.
It’s beautiful, but people don’t travel well in snow in North Carolina. The news reported drivers being stuck on Interstate I-85 in South Carolina for over 11 hours due to a jackknifed tractor trailer truck. Some were running out of gas while waiting so long.
No word of it here. I guess it’ll miss us. We’ve just got the frigid cold temps, but no snow at all. The photos are beautiful. I’m one of what seems like a dwindling number of Canadians who actually loves the winter. It’s a pain to drive in sometimes, but I think the snow is beautiful.
We’ll be driving down to Myrtle Beach in a few weeks. Hopefully all this winter storm nonsense will be gone by then. :) Fingers crossed…
Hi Richard, I don’t mind winters and would like to have a bit more snow. I enjoy four distinct seasons but they all seem to be blurring together these days…global warming perhaps.
Have a great time at the beach!
