Yesterdays’s post included photos of the backwaters of Fred’s Pond and I felt I should post photos of the actual pond.
It was raining most of the time but there was one period the rain stopped, the breeze died, and the pond’s surface took on a mirrors smoothness. It was during these moments I made these [...]

I wrote three post this morning and deleted the first two which were rants. It was a case where once written their purpose was served and I moved on–never intended to post them.
I sometimes loose patience with people who deal in inflexible absolutes. Often complexity is best just acknowledged, there may not be one single [...]

Yesterday, I had things around the house I wanted needed to do but because it was such a beautiful fall day, cool wet weather forecast for the next three days, I decided instead to ride to a favorite local park for a little photography.
I’d forgotten the massive road paving projects underway. I’ve heard about 9 [...]

A young child playing in a fountain [...]

This beautiful male Wood Duck was found hanging out among the Mallards, making them look rather poorly attired. Many people consider the Wood Duck to be the most beautiful of all waterfowl.
Interestingly, the Wood Duck is one of only a few North American ducks that nest in trees. These trees are usually near water and [...]

The photo was taken Sunday and upon viewing this scene a question came up about personal space and how these turtles seem comfortable climbing all over each other.
I believe you have to be self-aware to have a concept of personal space or it could be when living in a shell your personal space boundaries may [...]

Yesterday my daughter and I went out for a short walk at a local park and I happened to notice this excellent foot bridge reflection at one end of the parks lake–you can even make out the construction of the underside of the bridge.

Sailing beneath the fog
The fog lifts from the surface of the water but stubbornly clings to the surrounding mountain peaks as a small sailboat makes its way near Juneau, Alaska–I often think how nice it would have been to be in that small boat.
