On a recent fall like day we took time to ride through the nearby Nebraska’s Lee G Simmons Conservation Park and Wildlife Safari.

We arrived at the West Omaha/NE Lincoln KOA in Gretna, NE, on Sunday to begin working on the guest guide for this park as well as for the Pine Grove RV Park in Greenwood, NE.

We arrived at Kearney, Nebraska, this past Thursday and will continue to the Omaha area tomorrow. If you’ve travelled east or west through Nebraska you would have noticed the Kearney Archway.

Guided by geo-coordinates, we drove two hours northwest from Dodge City to arrive at Monument Rocks, Kansas. The final seven miles were dirt roads crossing privately owned grazing land, including driving among a herd of slow moving cattle.

Before we headed to Dodge City we took a little time to visit the Mushroom Rock State Park which is one of the smallest state parks in Kansas at only 5 acres.

I can easily say I’ve never thought of spending vacation time in Kansas. But here we are and we’re finding some interesting things to see.
