In front of the National Theatre in Piata Universitatii, Bucharest, is this sculpture by Ioan Bolborea, Caragealiana (also known as Caruta cu paiate - chariot with characters) featuring sixteen bronze characters from the work of the playwright Ion Luca Caragiale - Romania.

As hurricane Florence comes ashore in Wilmington, NC this morning I am reminded of the many roles it takes to prepare for such an event and then to react to it once it happens.  Over a million people have orderly evacuated from the coastal areas and for the most part, it’s been very organized and peaceful….
