βIn wilderness is the preservation of the world.β – Henry David Thoreau
Here are a couple more photos of the shoreline at Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge — no special composition or shooting techniques here…just a wide angle lens and let it soak in.
Finding scenes like this to enjoy with wide natural sandy beaches with no beach front homes, hotels, motels, or businesses packed along every linear inch is indeed welcomed. Much of the southern coastline is vastly overdeveloped with homes, condos, hotels and businesses packing every linear beach-front foot — location, location, location.
Not so here, only the famous outer banks sand dunes occupy that valuable real estate in this wildlife refuge — as it should be!
It is refreshing to see and know that there are still open, uninhabited places on this planet. Nice, wide angle shot.
Thanks, Don.
Very nice. I’ll echo what Don said. It does one’s heart good to see places that have been left alone to just be what they are. Long live wilderness…
PJ, I couldn’t agree more. Thanks!
So peaceful and enticing to see. It’s images like these that evoke strong emotions within me, wishing I was walking along barefoot, with or without a camera. Love the quote!
Thanks, Monte. I wish we’d had more time to spend here but even a short visit helped us feel my centered and recharged.
