“Wonderful” pretty much sums it up. There is an ethereal quality to this that melts my heart. What a marvelous job you did of capturing the essence of the blooms. Somehow, the soft edges give me a perfect excuse to lose myself in the dreaminess here. This is one of my favorites of all your outstanding images.
What a beautiful image – I love the tender and dreamlike quality of the photograph. The narrow depth of field brings out the delicate petals and soft tones even more… marvellous!
Hmmm, everytime I visit here I feel like I am seeing into the future. Sometimes I forget the geographic differences and think ‘whaaaaaa – how is that blooming now?” :-)
Mark, yeah, for sure it’s full of blooms on this end, including tree pollen covering everything with a coat of yellow dust sending my allergies absolutely off the scale. Yes, the not so beautiful side of spring for me. :-)
You certainly captured the emotional quality of spring here, a material for dreams.
Even more important as reality tends to be nightmarish more than enchanting…
Markus, thanks and I mostly agree about the current situation of reality. ;-)
I like the selective focus that gives emphasis to the red bud. A beautiful shot with very strong appeal.
Don, thank you. This was an experiment shooting wide open for a shallow DOF…an experiment which for once went well.
Thanks Earl for a reminder of what our spring will soon bring! Our dogwoods are still a few weeks away from blooming.
It’s coming, Steve…just a few weeks and you’re enjoy them in person and ours will be past.

Anita, thank you and I’m glad you like this one so much. It turned out to be one of those cases of less is more I believe.
Anita said it all for me, Earl. Great shot.
Ken, thanks!

Martina, thank you. When making this image I envisioned imparting a feeling of being lost in the softness of the blooms.
Well, you’ve sold me on this image. It speaks loudly of Spring and makes me yearn for a bright warm day instead of this gray and cool day we have.
Monte, I’m sure it will be there shortly…thanks!

I have developed allergies over the past couple of years, and have noticed them acting up lately also – even though we don’t have as many blooms.
