Greens and blues

Small Pond
Hidden in the woods -- sanctuary provider.

“When was the last time you spent a quiet moment just doing nothing – just sitting and looking at the sea, or watching the wind blowing the tree limbs, or waves rippling on a pond, a flickering candle or children playing in the park?” — Ralph Marston

One of the things I so appreciate about photography is it teaches you to pay special attention to small but remarkable moments, to understand their essence, and to dare you to try and capture them in form, texture and light. And by following this process provides a chance to better understanding yourself.

The image, a small pond hidden in the woods on a cold cloudy afternoon — where greens and blues rule under a thin sheet of ice.

That photograph has an incredibly peaceful and serene atmosphere – I love looking at the different shades of green and blue in the water… wonderful!

There are a lot of people who think you miss small moments when you are carrying around a camera, but I find I’m much more likely to notice them and appreciate them now than before I started photography. The blues and greens in this picture are lovely.

A beautiful pond with those fine greens and blues. A real “find.”

It’s places like this where healing begins and our strength can be renewed. A good place for your meanderings!

I’ll bet that the ducks love the pond and box too!

JP said something that really hit home with me. I used to be foolish enough to believe that a camera would get in the way of my seeing. I certainly have learned how wrong I was about that. What a lovely place to revitalize one’s spirit.

There’s a painterly quality to this I really like, Earl. Lovely image.
