“Adopt the pace of Nature; her secret is patience.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
Sometimes we can capture natures dance in photography by extending our attention span with longer exposures. What would a mountain visit be without at least one extended time exposure photo of a running stream or waterfall — here’s my submission from this trip, I didn’t want to break some unwritten rule.
In mountain valleys roads are often build along streams or rivers. So for this image it was a simple matter to pull over and set up camera with tripod for this 1/4 sec exposure. When those formalities were over, it was then time to sit quietly upon a rock beside this very stream for a longer exposure with my other imaging device, my mind.
When you empty your mind near natures beauty it’s amazing what it will fill back up with.
Have a good weekend!
A beautiful stream dashing its way over the rocks. Fine speed for the exposure. I like the longer exposure involving the mind. Nice!
I’m glad you didn’t break that rule. And, you are so right, nature with it’s slower pace and gentle sounds, is one of our best healer and filler-uppers, that we have. It’s my medication for my physical, spiritual and mental needs. When I miss a dose, I feel the effect.
Beautiful image. I can almost hear the stream.
don and Monte…thanks!
Beautiful image Earl. To me, it is very rhythmic.
Rhythmic, yes, I feel that too. Thanks, Mark.
