Blessed Rain
“Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet.”
― Roger Miller

Rain, blessed rain, a little yesterday and a bit more today. We’re so glad to have it, but they say to end the drought this month, we would need 15 inches of rain. We have a long way to go.
Strangely, my ferns are off to the best spring start ever. I don’t understand it. I recently set out a couple of Hostas and a couple of Astilbes among them to add some additional color and variety. These new plants fall within the coverage area of my watering system, so no additional water beyond what the ferns need will be required.

There is something about rain that nourishes my spirit just as it does plants. I love the smell of a fresh rainfall and how everything seems brighter, more alive. Almost all the snow is gone here from yesterday’s storm but the feeling the the refreshing moisture it brought is alive and well. I do love the perspective of this image!!
Thanks, Monte. Like most things, the importance and significance of rain and moisture become readily apparent when they become scarce.
