Christmas Wreath 2025

The Christmas Wreath
Christmas wreaths have a rich history that dates back to ancient times. Originally, wreaths were made from various plants and were used in winter solstice celebrations as symbols of life amidst the dark, cold months of winter. The circular shape of the wreath represents eternity, with no beginning or end, symbolizing endless love. Traditionally, Christmas wreaths are crafted from evergreens, which signify everlasting life, and they are often adorned with red ribbons and ornaments to represent the joy of the season. Today, wreaths are beloved symbols of holiday cheer, hung on doors to welcome guests and spread festive spirit.

I’m pleased we have a traditional theme for the wreath on our front door. It brings back fond memories of my childhood when my mother would hand-make wreaths each year using fresh pine sprigs, pine cones, red bows, holly berries, and occasionally a few ornaments. They not only looked beautiful but also smelled wonderful. Having a natural-looking wreath brings back good memories.

What an absolutely wonderful memory, Earl. We did not make ours and in fact I do not have any memories of Christmas Wreaths. I sure do the tree, though. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday!
We lived pretty much in the country, growing up, and money was tight, plus Mom and Dad grew up learning how to make do without it seeming like we ever did without. It is a good memory, and I had a good childhood. Take care, my friend!
Katherine makes ours. A friend has folks over each year to their barn where all the equipment and parts to make wreaths are held.
That sounds like a fantastic way to spend a day and get into the holiday spirit, Joe. I really miss the delightful scent of a real wreath as you pass by it on the door. I hope you have a great Christmas!
