Trying Again

A slow-healing wound: a little over four years after our dog Maggie passed away (4 May 2021), we’ve finally reached a point where we’re ready to open up our hearts to another dog. Bentley is a rescue whose age is in the 5-7 year range. We think he is a majority of the Boxer breed. He is a very calm and loving guy. He needs a little training in leash skills, but so far, he hasn’t demonstrated any bad traits. 🤞

He’s a cutie, Earl. He’ll be a fine companion. We are thinking of adopting another cat, also. My heart was broken when Emo left us and it’s a long healing process.
They sure do have a way of becoming family, don’t they? I hope you find the right one.
Wonderful news and welcome Bentley! Looking forward to reading about your adventures.
Thanks, Mark. It took a long time before we felt ready to commit again. But Bentley is such a well-behaved and sweet little guy that he’s already convinced us it was the right decision.
Welcome Bentley. You probably did know you were gonna be famous this quickly. You have some big paw prints to fill. Upon first appearance, I believe you can meet the task. Bonnie and Earl are good people, so I think you’ve made a good choice. Not sure how easy they are going to be to train but then again I believe you’re up to the task. I’m pretty sure you can have Earl wrapped around your paw within a couple weeks, if not sooner. And Bonnie, she’ll be a piece of cake. Congratulations, and I hope it all works out wonderfully for the three of you.
We picked up Bentley from a foster caregiver this past Wednesday (two days ago), a little over an hour away from our home. While returning home, I rode in the backseat with Bentley, and he had his head in my lap most of the way. I was “trained” halfway back. Haha! He’s a super sweet and gentle guy who wants to please and has settled in like he’s lived with us for years. I probably held out longer than Bonnie. She was “trained” before she opened the car door, and Bentley quickly hopped in. Thanks for your well wishes, Monte. I hope you have a great weekend.
Very cute. I wish him a great life in his new home.
Thank you! He is a ‘love sponge’ who gives as well as he takes. He has already won us over, and we will certainly spoil him! 🙄
