Striving to find joy in those things we do. Bonnie’s love for flowers and plants brings her pleasure, making them thrive, as the Meyer Lemon Tree image above shows. I also get enjoyment by photographing her results and then, as in this case, eating whatever wonderful treat she makes with the fruit of her labor. It’s a win-win for me! 😁
This photo doesn’t show that on the other side of the pot, another group of lemons are at about the same stage of ripeness.
Happy Halloween! 🎃
“If you haven’t heard of a Meyer lemon, you’re missing out on this farmers market favorite. Meyer lemons are a thin-skinned hybrid fruit, part citron and part mandarin orange, making them much sweeter than a standard lemon you’d see at a grocery store.
While Meyer lemons have become more popular in recent years, you’re still somewhat unlikely to find them on your regular grocery run. If you love the taste of these sweet-tart fruits, your best bet is cultivating your very own Meyer lemon tree.” — This Old House
Yes, a win-win situation. It doesn’t look like it’s a very tall tree. From everything I’ve come to know about Bonnie, she’s definitely a keeper, my friend!
