“I’m in love with Montana. For other states I have admiration, respect, recognition, even some affection. But with Montana it is love. And it’s difficult to analyze love when you’re in it.”
― John Steinbeck, Travels with Charley: In Search of America

I came across a few more photos of western Montana, which I’m posting here as a follow-up to my previous “Wide Open Western Montana” post.  I’m not as ‘in love’ with Montana as the John Steinbeck quote above professed, but I have a ‘deep like’ of it.  My current political views probably don’t align with the average Montana citizen, but I can easily understand and respect many of their opinions, considering their environment.

If there is one thing I admire about the western US it is the wide-open views. Of course around here, at only about 600 ft above sea level, it is kinda hard to get the vantage points. :)

Yes, there are some very wide open spaces in Montana and include Wyoming in that also. Yet that does not mean we couldn’t get along. I probably wouldn’t politically align with many people from Montane either. But they do have some beautiful scenery. That first image is beautiful!
