Train Station, Salisbury, NC

While out and about one sunny Saturday a few weeks ago, I took these photos of the Salisbury, NC Train Station. The station was built in 1908 by the Southern Railroad in the Spanish Mission Style and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Gargoyles Stand WatchThe station is still served by three Amtrak passenger trains, the: Crescent (New York City – New Orleans); Carolina (New York City – Charlotte,NC); and Piedmont (Raleigh, NC – Charlotte, NC).

I find the architecture interesting and beautiful, it even has its own decorative gargoyles standing guard.

I’ll give you that my treatment of these photos was a bit postcardish, but I felt it fitted the subject. Sometimes during post processing they determine their own fate–so be it. :-)

If I had regular access to this type of wonderful architecture, I would hope to do as good a job as you are doing. I know my hard drives would be even more bloated.
