Sailing beneath the fog
The fog lifts from the surface of the water but stubbornly clings to the surrounding mountain peaks as a small sailboat makes its way near Juneau, Alaska–I often think how nice it would have been to be in that small boat.
And seemingly cold…. They had likely the most wonderful time down there, in that sail boat. It seems very calm, though the wind is enough strong to be able to sail I don’t know the term for it in English, but you know what I mean if you know a bit about sailing zick-zack towards the wind.
@Ove: I believe the term in English is “tacking into the wind.” Tacking is changing course through/into the wind so that it’s coming from the other side of the sails. I may know a few of the terms buy I’m certainly not a sailor.
It was indeed cold. The people on this boat were wearing cold weather gear but wouldn’t that make you feel even more alive? :-)
Yeah, I can imagine being on that boat with that view and those calm waters must be pretty nice. Looking forward to seeing similar views in about a week!

Indeed, this is part of the magic of shared images. Thanks to your photo I am moved to imagine myself in the sailboat, standing beside you, on the distant shore, even up in those mountains. The color of the water is just wonderfulvibrant, deep, and it almost seem to move.
