Last Friday I combined a walk with a little photography at an old mill co-located with a small park not far from my home. It was my first photographs in over a week.
The park is very normal with paths/trails, some nondescript woods containing a mixture of hardwood and evergreen trees, two streams and a very small pond. Good photo opportunities exist but you have to work for them, be observant and pay attention to the details.
It’s most often about finding the beauty in the ordinary. Or at least being able to see and interpret the ordinary in new ways. That uniqueness often reveals beauty.
âPhotography is more than a medium for factual communication of ideas. It is a creative art.â – Ansel Adams
When shooting places I’ve shot many times before it’s about new angles or improved techniques. I try to be smarter and more creative photographer.
This particular visit I set a personal goal of photos with a little different perspective. I was looking to be a little ‘edgier’ then what I’ve taken here before–harsher angles and cooler/sharper post processing.
I certainly liked the results well enough to take this particular facet a bit farther.
