Streets of Colonial Williamsburg, VA
A good reason for visiting a popular north-eastern tourist destination during January is the lack of crowds. Excepting a few other hardy souls, we had the streets of Colonial Williamsburg to ourselves–the temperature was well below freezing.
I’m not a crowd person. I don’t enjoy waiting in lines and I’d much rather travel off-season or pick a destination that’s not on the popular tourist route. I don’t have a crowd phobia, it’s simply a preference.
Speaking of tourist, that’s another area that will be feeling even more of a pinch due to our current economic woes. I can’t imagine with people not buying they’ll travel and do large vacations as they have in the past.
Update: I decided to make this post a weekend photo twofer and add a second Williamsburg photo of the Colonial Williamsburg Governor’s Palace, which was home to seven royal governors, Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson.
