We’d planned to travel from West Memphis, AR, to Fayetteville, NC, to do another park guest guide renewal. However, the park in Fayetteville canceled on us, which we now consider a stroke of luck considering the heavy rains they’ve received on the east coast.  Upon the cancellation we adjusted our schedule and are en route to Vero Beach, FL.

From West Memphis, AR, we’ve traveled south through Alabama and are currently 30 miles west of Tallahassee, FL. We’re taking some time making our way to Vero Beach to relax and recharge. As a side note, we have a little history with our next work location, Vero Beach, Florida. Bonnie’s parents moved to Vero Beach upon their retirement so she knows the area.

These photos were taken with my iPhone in the Pelham, AL, area where we stayed one day. We’re going to miss most of the fall color this year but could see the beginnings as we drove south. You can keep track of our travels and stops for the year via the Meandering Passage Travel Log page.

A real bummer you have to go back to Florida for the winter. And, yes you will miss out on the fall colors but sunshine would work just fine for me. Yes, there has been some rain in South Carolina and other parts. My friends son and girlfriend were vacationing in the the Caribbean Islands and were stuck there. Another bummer. Each day is a new challenge as the plans we make change, requiring us to make decisions. I think you and Bonnie do a good job at making those decisions. Enjoy yourselves!

Man! I was looking forward to seeing you and to complaining about your slow driving on the parkway and leaf-peeping! ;) We will have to catch up some time in November. I’ll be gone nearly the entire month of December. Maybe we can talk Monte into joining us. I have a free room for him and I’d even feed him a time or two!
