The other day while writing about places I’d like to visit and/or photograph, I published a post on Zaragoza, Spain. Well, in my continuing research on the area I’ve found another city in Spain that would certainly deserve a visit, Granada, Spain.
Granada seems to be one of the real gems of Spain, visited by tourist from all the world. The well conserved and important Moorish citadel and palace, “Alhambra,” is at the top of attractions in the area. The name Alhambra means “the red one” which refers to the color of the mountain on which it is built. I’d love to be able to get some early morning or late evening photo there.
Granada itself is located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains in southern Spain, only one hour from the Mediterranean coast. The city population is about 240,000 although if you count the entire urban area it swells to over 470,000.
Even as a popular tourist attraction, there are opportunities for affordable Granada hotels to keep within your vacation budget. If not Granada, you may also want to check out other cheap hotels of the world which could fit your budget needs.
This area is rich in history, architecture, and beautiful gardens and charming narrow streets. A great place for both sightseeing and photography.
Perhaps some day… ;-)
