Off my normal group of topics here, but I’m always very skeptical of anyone who comes across as too righteous, too pious or too willing to set in judgement of others.
We’ve heard of many politicians and/or television evangelist who’ve fit this bill only to have their own dirty little secrets come to the light of day. I’m sure it happens as well to many lesser know hypocrites, which we don’t hear of.
From the news today it appears NY Gov. Eliot Spitzer is the latest to fall. His undoing seems to be a weakness for very expensive prostitutes. The irony is that Gov. Spitzers’ political career was built on no nonsense law-and-order and morality.
The saddest part of this is that there are always other victims. Anyone who watched todays video apology by Gov. Spitzer with his wife, Silda, standing beside him could see the pain and emptiness in her eyes.
I don’t know how she stood there, and then there’s the three daughters.
As a father how would you like to have to have that conversation?
You know what they say: People who live in glass houses should not throw stones!
This is truly sad for his family. He’s lost the trust of his wife and the respect of his children. What magnifies it even more is his stance on those very same issues that he violated. He broke the very laws that he was sworn in to uphold. So, now, how could anyone, especially his family, believe what he says.
