One week since the car incident in our back yard — power pole replaced and fence repaired, during a holiday week no less. Yea, the dogs and I are very happy. :-)
I am very impressed! One week for all this would be impressive any week, but at this time of year?! Congratulations. I am relieved that the dogs once again have a secure yard.
Yeah, that’s impressive, all that in one week. Now, those new boards just need to get a bit more tanned. Don’t you wish you had Photoshop in real life, sometimes? :)
Ove, I love your “Real Life Photoshop” idea. With some creative life photoshopping I could lose a little weight, get better muscle definition, remove my wrinkles and take care of that thin hair spot I’ve been noticing on the top of my head. Plus, wait until you see the tan I’ll have! ;-)
Steve, it sure is nice not having a gapping hole in it!

Well, now you’ve gone and done it, Earl. You’ve made all those folks who are supposed to be fixing / restoring power grids, roads, bridges, homes, businesses, etc., those things that were damaged or destroyed during all those storms over the last year or so around the country, look just a tad slow and inefficient. Shame on you. I mean, get with the program! These kinds of repairs are supposed to take weeks or months. Heck, you’ll have the FBI looking into this breach of protocol.
Or maybe it isn’t really fixed at all. As Ove suggests, maybe it’s just another Photoshop thing. Just Earl being a little sneaky and creative here, huh?
Paul, what can I say. I decided early on to use our fine U.S. Congress as an inspiration. I looked at how they handle a crisis and then did the exact opposite — using communications, cooperation, available talents/skills along with the wise use of budgeted funds to make things happen in a positive way. It worked like a charm.
Yeah, I tried that photoshopping thing Ove mentioned…the dogs still saw the hole. They just don’t appreciate art, I guess! :-)
I like the new fence, Earl, and the fast repair. Was it the clone/stamp tool or content aware fill that you used? I suspect Photoshop because it’s taken me over 5 years to get the bathroom fan fixed.
Ken, thanks, I went all out for this one and purchased the new photoshop fence repair plug-in. Worked like a charm but as I commented to Paul above, the dogs weren’t impressed so I had to fall back and actually fix it. I can’t claim to have done it myself…we have a great “handy-man” that’s done a lot of work for us.
About that fan, you just need the motivator I have here for fixing things…my loving wife. ;-)
Chris, thanks! It’s nice to have the backyard “secured” again. It’s been warm and wet here so the grass is starting to turn a little green again. I think this next week it’s suppose to cool back down to more normal temperatures.
Monte, thanks! Bonnie and I were talking the other day how much conceptual difference having that fence there makes. It does give a sense of security even if it’s only a wooden fence.
I’m very glad that your fence was repaired so quickly, I’m really impressed by the time. Your dogs must be especially happy since they have their garden back to play. Have a great start to the week!

Anita, thanks! Now comes the hard part…seeing how long it takes to settle with the insurance company.

Not much beats a brand new fence!

Amazing. I’m glad things are back to normal. It’s also amazing how different it looks there for late November. Everything is grey here.

A fine looking renovation of the fence. I like the before and after images.
Don, Thanks. I like the after image…the before mades me a little sick thinking about it. :-)
Looking good, Earl. Looks more like a privacy fence now.
