Fanciful Friday: This Week’s Walks
I’m taking the easy way out once again with my Fanciful Friday post. As I’ve said before, fall arrived late and unevenly here. Some trees are still mostly green, while others have already entered stick season. However, this week has certainly been peak leaf-color season so far, so I wanted to share some photos I took while walking Bentley around the local area. I took most of these one-handed with my phone, as Bentley is still learning the ropes of being my photographic assistant. Or even standing still, for that matter.
I don’t think the above photos need captions: trees and leaves. I have little hope for a normal winter season this year. I expect record highs and record lows, depending on which way the Jet Stream is being pushed. Have a good weekend!

I like that expression “stick season.” I’m not sure I’ve ever heard that before. This is a good series of fall colors. Most of our color comes in yellow and orange, not much red. Thanks for taking the easy way out!!!
“Stick Season” might be a phrase more common in the Northeast. It is also the title of a song by Vermont singer/songwriter Noah Kahan. This year has had some deep red and scarlet, but it’s been spotty and inconsistent. We got about 1.4 inches of rain over the last couple of days, which is welcome and much needed. It looks like seasonal weather over the next 10 days, which I’d love.
No problem…I’ll take the easy way out every chance I get! 😂
