Early Fall Colors
Whispered Farewell
Crimson, gold, and flame,
First leaves whispering farewell,
Autumn’s soft embrace.

As summer comes to a gentle close, the soft breezes carry whispers of change. The leaves in our neighborhood are beginning to transform, adorned in shades of gold, red, and orange, glistening with morning dew. One by one, they flutter down, settling on the branches like vibrant gems in the fading light. Autumn’s palette unfolds, filling the landscape with a tapestry of colors that inspires wonder. Each leaf tells a story, reflecting the beauty found in change and reminding us of the natural cycles that evoke both nostalgia and hope. I can only hope to record a portion of that story.

I like the haiku. It speaks of what you see. We still do not see as much crimson, gold or yellow. We have mostly brown.
The colors are very spotty here. Some trees look like midsummer, while one or two seem to be rushing into fall. It’s cooler here this week; it actually feels a bit like fall. Loving it!
There is a tree on a road I travel regularly that we use as our Early Autumn Warning as it goes yellow before anything else in the area. We’re now well into Fall, nearly past peak but still beautiful.
It’s been a strange year. As you can see in the first photo, only one branch of this tree has turned bright scarlet. Most of the rest of the tree is still 90+ percent summer green. Normal may be a word of the past when it comes to seasons and climate. Thanks, Joe!
