Fanciful Friday: Dreaming

I’ve been enjoying some architectural envisioning through AI imaging, though at this stage in my life, it’s more like architectural dreaming. I’m envisioning a place surrounded by forests and mountains, with some nearby water, which ticks off most of my boxes. A nice deck or balcony for enjoying morning coffee and evening wine, at a place where a dog could roam free, would make it even better. I am drawn to unusual architectural designs that integrate with nature rather than forcing nature to conform to traditional styles. However, given the challenges of climate change, drought, and wildfires, I’m not sure how safe any of these homes would truly be now.

It would be difficult for me to choose one so if possible I’ll take all four! The fourth one reminds me of a hobbit style home and very much integrated into the land. Not only fires, drought, and climate change but nature herself will want to take back what we build on so infrastructure would need continual maintenance. Actually if you’re going to let me have one, I’ll take the third one!
I just got notification that there is a fire burning south of here near Lyons where they have built some nice homes and have made a mandatory evacuation notification. It’s not big but with everything as dry as it is I can see the danger.
I would probably choose the third house because it’s smaller and requires less maintenance. I call the last house the “snail house” for obvious reasons, but I also see the Hobbit reference.
I hope they can get the fire in Lyons under control. They seem to grow exceptionally fast this year. When we were RVing, we once had to evacuate due to a confirmed tornado. It’s frightening to leave your home and all your belongings behind, not knowing if you’ll ever see them again.

I just received notification that day have lifted evacuation orders and to return to normal. And the fire only reached about 2 acres.
