Fanciful Friday: PictoQuote

| | | |

I want to provide some background before you start reading this post. I believe that pictures and images often tell stories that we encounter in both human and natural environments. We use photographs to illustrate narratives, commemorate significant historical or personal moments, and convey emotions that may not come across as strongly in written form. Additionally, images help affirm our existence and provide context for those who follow us. This also applies to comics and graphic novels, which rely more on visuals than on text.

If you visit this site often, you may have noticed that I include many quotes in my posts. I recognize that many smarter and wiser individuals have expressed similar thoughts more concisely and accurately than I can. Additionally, quotes often carry more weight than my own words.

Humor plays a significant role in my life and, by extension, in this blog. I make an effort not to take myself too seriously and to have fun when the moment strikes me. My wife would likely say that during tough moments, I often use humor to deflect from the situation, and I can’t deny that either!

All the information, traits, and narratives mentioned above came together somewhat unexpectedly to inspire this post.

This week’s Fanciful Friday will be what I’m calling a “PictoQuote” post. In the game Pictionary, you draw pictures to describe words. In this post, I created the six pictures below, each illustrating or providing humorous clues to a well-known individual movie quote (six pictures = six quotes). Look at each picture and guess what the quote is. When you get to the end, you can check your guesses against the answers I provided there. Have fun!

How many quotes did you get just from the pictures, or did you jump straight to the answers? Were the pictures on point for the quote?

Feel free to comment and let me know.

These “Fanciful Friday” posts are for fun, or at least try to be a little less serious than normal. Strangely enough, I find I’m having to put more thought, time and effort into creating them than my regular posts. In any case, we can all certainly stand a little humor or a distraction these days.

Have a wonderful weekend! Maybe share a good movie with someone. (TGIFF)
