Leaves With Needles

While walking Bentley early one morning at 5 AM, I noticed some brightly colored leaves resting on a bed of pine needles. It was a bit of a juggling act as I tried to make the photo with the leash and a small light in one hand and my phone in the other. I didn’t use the phone’s flash, and Bentley doesn’t often give me a chance, or seldom a calm moment, to think about photography on these morning walks.
I’ve been experimenting with post-processing. There is no set formula for the process, and each piece takes on its own voice and direction as I work on it, influenced by my personal taste and skills, or lack thereof. The results have varied greatly, from mild to wild, with many ending up lost on the way and being trashed. This is one of my milder acceptable results.

I like it! I also like the experimenting whether in the field or post processing. So you can continue to experiment for both of us. And, thanks for taking Bentley for those early morning walks.
Thanks! You know what they say, Monte, be careful what you wish for. Their will be more examples of my experimentation this week. Bentley is loudly reactive to other dogs so we are most often out when no one else is, be that early or be that late. 🙄
