Lily Lake

|

Life is comprised of moments and events that create and are remembered in stories. I’ve tried to capture below a few of the significant personal memory moments collected from our short stop at Lily Lake.

  • Perfect weather that only complemented the natural beauty that surrounded us.
  • Rumors of a very recent moose and calf sighting, along with substantiating tracks. We never spotted them, though not from a lack of looking.
  • Mysterious white roses floating on the clear water’s edge. No doubt a significant event for someone. A bit sad perhaps.
  • Three friends, laughing and enjoying a miniature paint-a-picture of the lake event on a picnic table at the water’s edge as a birthday celebration.
  • How good our timing was, or how lucky we were, that a car pulled out of the small and crowded parking area just as we arrived. As the driver, this was probably more significant to me.

According to Bonnie’s need to know, Lily Lake was created more than 10,000 years ago from a melting glacier and was named for the abundance of lilies that once grew in the area.

Yes, the person in the photo above from the southwest view is, in fact, Sir Monte Stevens. Consider him a casualty of friendly fire. 😉

A big Yes, on the moments and events! I had never really spent that much time meandering around the lake before. So, glad we did. Thanks for not mortally wounding me.
