Presentation

I recently noticed the first leaves of Fall on the ground from the Silver Maple Tree in our front yard. Naturally, I was inclined to focus on the bright colors, but I also began working on a black-and-white version that I liked. However, the black and white image doesn’t convey or present the essence of fall as strongly as the color image does. It comes down to what I’m striving to say with the image. I’ll leave it up to you to choose which version you prefer.

I love the black and white image as it makes the leaves into a form of art. Yet I love the color image because it tells a story for me. And the leaves are changing here also.
I’m split between these two images for much the same reasons as you, Monte. We’re having beautiful weather here at the moment. Have a good weekend!
I like them both but my roots are in B&W and, when done well (like this one) it just looks beautiful.
I often find that it takes more effort and time to edit a black and white image to my liking than it does to edit a color image. Of course, I acknowledge that I am far from being a professional in either field. Thanks for stopping by, Ken!
