A Cooler Spot From My Photo Archives

It’s too dang hot 🥵 to be outside making new photographs, so I’m ‘traveling’ via my photo archives today. The feels-like temperature today will be over 100°F, with the actual temperature just slightly below, accompanied by moderately high humidity. Dog walking and plant watering were all done late yesterday and early this morning, and the window shades are down more than usual to block heat. I hope all of you who are under this high-pressure heat dome have some cool place to hang out today. Welcome to a preview of our future.
It was definitely cooler when and where I made this photograph!

The past couple days have been cooler for us and even expecting thunderstorms later today. Stay cool however you can!
We’re rolling out from under the worst of the heat by the end of today. We didn’t have it as bad as some of those in the northeast, but I’m glad to see it be a little cooler. Staying cool wasn’t a problem; we just had to schedule any outside activities earlier in the day.
It’s been quite unpleasant, and now with the heat dome beginning to lift, the mosquito dome has moved in right behind it. Even our dogs don’t like being out for long.
I can relate, Mark. There is a low area in the woods behind our house where runoff water collects, and mosquitoes have been rampant over the past few weeks. When I need to be in that area for a while, I always wear long pants and shirt sleeves, and I use mosquito repellent.
