The International Harvester Company (IHC) was established in 1902 through the merger of several farming equipment manufacturers, quickly becoming a leader in agricultural machinery. Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, IHC expanded its product line to include trucks and industrial equipment, gaining a reputation for producing durable and reliable vehicles. Following World War II, the company continued to innovate in the trucking sector but faced increasing competition and market shifts in the subsequent decades. In 1985, IHC sold its agricultural division and redefined itself as Navistar International Corporation, focusing on commercial trucks and engines. Despite the transitions, the legacy of International Harvester endures, with many of its classic models still celebrated by collectors and enthusiasts today.
