Male and female Eastern Bluebirds, a species of Thrushes (Sialia sialis), NC, Jan2025

While I had seen bluebirds in the area, I noticed that they seldom came to feed from this feeder due to the type of seeds it offers. These two must be hungry. In the past, when I was feeding dehydrated mealworms from a different kind of feeder, they were regular visitors. But, I had to stop offering the worms due to the territorial and bully tactics of mockingbirds, who also loved the mealworms and kept all the other birds away.

I had to work truly hard for this photo. 🙄 It was made from my chair in our living room through a window with my iPhone, but I did have to put my coffee down. However, I firmly believe in answering the door when luck comes knocking.

I want to thank you for all the hard work in capturing this image. Well worth your efforts! It seems to be a natural law that anytime we put out a bird feeder it is inclusive of all birds and squirrels. Fights start. There never seems to be enough. Sounds like a human trait. I think it is a heck of photo!!! Maybe it’s the cold weather you are experiencing.

Sometimes we must suffer greatly to get the photos we really want. :)
