Winter Bird “Waffle House,” Concord, NC – JAN2025

“Take me back to when laughter was endless, and my dreams were bigger than my fears.” – Unknown

We received only a minuscule amount of snow, sleet, and freezing rain from the overnight storm. Even Atlanta, which is further south, experienced much more snow and ice. However, it was beautiful this morning as the ice reflected the sunlight. The local TV weather forecasters went crazy with their predictions and coverage, despite it mostly being a non-event. I suppose in this social media age, no one is immune to pursuing views or ratings. I have to say I miss when they simply presented the facts without it turning into such a circus, but perhaps that’s just a reflection of my age.

It has been three years since this area experienced real winter snow (if you could even call this that), so even this amount brought back a little of my childhood enjoyment when perhaps laughter was nearly endless, especially when playing in the snow. So please forgive me for taking this time and space for such a small event. I guess something had to be my first post for 2025.

That frozen feeder is great! We got about 2″ today, nothing to brag about and nothing else in the forecast.

I can appreciate the beauty of ice storms as long as I don’t have to experience them myself. Also, we have some old trees that don’t enjoy the ice as much as I do.

I love the birdfeeder image, with the cardinal making eye contact. My silly mind wonders if they are asking you to turn up the heat a wee bit. No need to apologize for posting here as it is what I look for. An ice storm is not a small event. It looks like you are going to be cold for a few days so stay warm!!
