“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.” — William Butler Yeats
After a personally disappointing November, I’m working to lift my spirits, so most of my posts and photos for the rest of December will be holiday and Christmas-themed. As a personal challenge, I’ll focus on being creative with my compositions and post-processing efforts. I might also include a few photos from daily events, and I’ll do my best to keep things interesting and perhaps a little irreverent on occasion for those of you who decide to stick with me. It will all be fun and light-hearted unless I slip up, watch the news and fall back into a deep depression!

Off to a good start, Earl. Btw, Festivus is 12/23 this year. We celebrate but leave out the “Feats of Strength” and the “Airing of Grievances.”
Thank you, Ken. Yes, on the 23rd. I believe it’s perfectly fine to customize Festivus to fit your personal style as long as you maintain the spirit of Festivus in your heart—or somewhere below that. As you can see, we decided to forgo the traditional Festivus Pole in favor of a more traditional flocked tree.
I’m sticking with you!!! Bring on the images and your wise words shared here. My sister and her daughter on a news fast. I’ve been on one for several years. Bring on the magic, my friend!
My concept for this collection of posts about the Festivus and Christmas holidays aims to be humorous with some sarcastic truths. So, my friend, bring your sense of humor and let’s see if I can pull this crazy thing off. Just think of not terrible Dad jokes!
anxiously awaiting the irreverence.
We’ll see where this goes.
I’ve significantly cut back on my news consumption in the past 5 weeks!
Yelp, survival mode, probably for the next four years. Let’s hope there is something left to survive for. I know I can’t get invested in it all for now.
