While walking in a local park, this little creature decided to engage me in a game of hide and seek around the trunk of the tree pictured. It quickly became evident that the squirrel was skilled at this game, circling the tree, allowing only blurred shots of a noise or bushy tail by accurately anticipating the moments I’d press the shutter button on my camera. Eventually, my perseverance paid off, and I got this shot, although I suspect it was only due to the squirrel finally growing bored or taking pity on me.
The golden yellow leaves in the background, the warm light, and this little fellow hiding from a nut rather than hiding a nut communicate autumn to me.
Trying to decide if you were a worthy challenger to the growing stash no doubt! :-)
Perhaps so. I had this post already queued up; otherwise, there probably wouldn’t have been a post today—I’m lacking motivation just now.
Same here. may be rethinking about a lot of things.
I like how you describe your interaction with the squirrel because I’ve had similar experiences. I’ve had many experiences where they pose until you pull out or lift up the camera. They do know!!! And maybe your right, they do play a game. I am glad you persevered.
