I’m pleased to report that my fern hillside project has faired well over the winter.  The cover I put in place last fall protected them from frostbite while allowing the majority of sun and rain through.

One fern might not make it, but I suspect its survival would have been doubtful even in milder temperatures.   It’s the second one in that particular spot that’s not faired well.   I won’t set another one at that same spot again.

I’ll roll the cover back over the ferns again in a couple of days for at least one night as there are freezing temperatures forecasted again

  1. Good to read they did ok. Managing ferns is probably more enjoyable than a website right now I imagine.

  2. Now your talking and they do seem to be doing fine. There is something about being part of the life of nature that rocks!

And by the way this is the first time in ages your website remembered my information. Previously I had to enter it each time I commented. Of course this is the same day.

    • Yes, nature can be very calming and rewarding.
Good to hear an issue is resolved, Monte. I guess it was a problem or some setting with the previous theme.
